Brands that bite.

It’s time to get personal. Personal branding, that is. Branding that represents you.

The world seems to be moving towards the practice of people marketing themselves and their careers as brands. So, developing a brand that is created around your name or your career.

People are all about self-empowerment, self-positioning, and self-management. But if you are moving in that direction, how can you ensure that your brand bites; AND leave a mark?

The following tips should not be applied if you have not yet established yourself. This step is the biggest step you need to take, and taking this step alone is critical to your journey. Once you are established, it will be easier to apply the following tips and to prove your value.

Here are a few tips, not in particular order, except for number 1, number 1 should be number 1, always.

  1. Be yourself – Why though? Because being yourself will make you feel comfortable, and being comfortable will make things easier, easier to communicate your thoughts, your vision and yourSELF. There’s no need to try and be different, don’t understand me wrong. Don’t be different, don’t be mainstream, just be yourself.
  2. Own and #win your space – Once you have figured out what your strengths and uniqueness’s are, perfect them! Practise, use, advocate them! And then, you will own them, making it possible for you to market them!
  3. Be consistent – Stay away from the one hit wonders. You want to be consistent and one step ahead. Consistency will bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
  4. Spread the word – In order to avoid being a one hit wonder, spread the word. Be active across all social media platforms and your website or personal brand (if you’ve got one, if you don’t – I’d say, pick up the phone and give us a call).

Speak your truth, because someone needs to hear it!
